## Transcript

Welcome to the exciting world of iPhone applications. IPhone apps! IPhone apps! There are just like 200, 000 them. There's only a few. Yeah, yeah, how you can choose. They're actually, yeah, there's like 12 million of them. So this one came out recently like Tuesday of this week, it's called Springpad. Now Springpad in about itself is a website that exists already, but its iPhone app is and I quote " A free application that let's you quickly and easily save the ideas and suggestions you come across everyday ." So it's like a list manager sort of with a twist. You can add things, add a quick thought, note to self, review Springpad.

You add something by type. There are several categories, notes, products, restaurants, business, etc ., but where you really start having fun is adding things by photo, by barcode and things that are nearby using the iPhone's built- in GPS capabilities. You know what I'm going to use it for? Not to manage a list of mindless day to day things. I'm going to build a repository of the things that I like and dislike in the case of amnesia. Get you being when I come to and I don't remember anything, I can use this Springpad system to jog my memory and make sure I don't make any purchasing mistakes. For instance, I can use the nearby function.

Springpad would like to use your current location. Okay. Now, I can't tell you exactly where my address is here in Boston because being an internet celebrity, if my fans found out where I live, it'd be like, you know, that girl on American Idol that cried after Sanjaya got finished butchering whatever song he butchered a couple of seasons ago. No clip? No rights legally? Okay. You know the girl. She had pigtails and was like, that one. That would be like outside my house but times a thousand. So we'll just give you a general idea where I live. So I can say Warren Tavern Restaurant, very famous restaurant here in Charlestown.

I can add it to my Springpad, add this and I know that that's-- that's kind of where-- where I live. Close to there. I can also kind of know when I put in the Warren Tavern for instance in my case I would note the Shepherd's pie tastes like feet mixed with some ( beep ) then what's it ( beep ) it's really gross. I can't believe I ordered it and then ate the whole thing and I paid for it. It was not very delicious. Sex in the City, this will show up two features in one. By photo, I can take a photo of the box and say, " You do not like this show, nor do you like this movie ." Firstly, I can use the barcode scanner to add this to a list of products and say, " Things not to buy.

Do not spend your money on this ." But also bookmark that you can add to your web browser so if you come across something interesting on the web, you can use the bookmark to save it to your Springpad account and then when you're out and about on the town you can pull it up on your iPhone, it'll be all be synchronized and you can say, oh! Here's the restaurant I wanted to try here. Here is the ingredients for that recipe I wanted. So that's the Springpad iPhone app. It's available for free. You can also get a free account online at springpadit. com. Check it out! It's pretty cool. Doug Aamoth, techland.
