Bootcamps offer students the opportunity to train for tech jobs in a fraction of the time it would take them to pursue a traditional four year degree. With the average program totalling to $ 11, 900. And 2018 marks the sixth anniversary for the alternative education model, which is estimated to be worth $ 240 million Since 2013 the number of bootcamp schools in the US has tripled to more than 100, and number of graduates will reach nearly 20000 in 2018 according to course report which tracks the industry. According to the organization 73 % report being employed as developers After graduation, and many coding boot camps offer job guarantees for students, some even offer a full or partial tuition refund if students are unable to find a job within a certain amount of time after graduation But it's two of largest bootcamp school shut down in 2017, the industry faced a sobering reality. Despite increasing employer demands, some bootcamp programs were unable to innovate along side the field to prepare students for the necessary skill void. Many bootcamps never evolved passed courses in basic web development And companies are now often looking for more advanced coding skills. So, how [ INAUDIBLE ] actually fair against traditional computer science graduates. Also an employer say that bootcamp grads do not have a better grasp of necessary broader concepts and algorithms according to a study by Indeed. com of over a thousand HR managers and technical recruiters 72 % of employers think bootcamp grads are just as prepared to be high performers as traditional degree holders. Coding schools are aware of this perceived divide and have established partnerships with universities. Some programs, like Level at Northeastern University, offer course credit that can count toward a degree. And other model colleges bringing a coding school to offer classes as part of a career development curriculum. But in what appears to be a force make school a San Francisco base coding program will grant graduates of it's program a Bachelor's Degree in applied computer science in partnership with Dominican University of California. But whether your looking to transition your career or for a college replacement all together remember not all programs are created equal. Before making an investment make sure to follow up with programs to ask what company's recent grads are at and check out the instructors experience to make sure they've worked in the tech industry.
