TIME video took a moment to look at how media and rest of the world interpreted the election and what insights the foreign press has on the direction the United States is heading in and how this latest vote affects foreign policy. >> Obamas bittra forlust i morse-- Obama's bitter loss this morning. The voters fled, unemployment, healthcare reform, stimulus and crisis package, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the-- and the oil catastrophe, the Gulf oil spill, Swedes are like these issues because they show areas where they feel that they may be doing a better job relative to United States. You know seeing how Obama's fighting for those reforms cost in political capital. Again, I think Swedes look at that and are a bit confused. How can fighting for healthcare do damage to a politician in a way it's done damaged to Obama? >> I would say migration issue is the biggest concern. And this time the marijuana issue in California was very important because it's not exactly in the same direction that Calderon wanted it to be. And I would say the third issue is what's going on with Obama? He's very popular in Mexico. So, people don't understand how is-- how is he doing so bad with the polls and with the electorship. >> The headline of the election on the times of India's global page is about Nikki Haley. So, the article is sort of talks about Nikki Haley and then goes into the fact that the Democrats just [ unk ] to lose [ unk ]-- of seats. That the headlines on Headlines Today were the US says no you can't, Obama's magic fades, Obama's hope fading fast, Obama deflates India's hopes. And there's gonna be a lot of talk about. Is Obama even gonna be able to do anything for India now that he suffered these losses in the polls? >> There are five articles in the world analyzing the campaign. There were different little portraits, Ron Paul, Nikki Haley. The speech of John Boehner did were he starts crying. They say that he's crying and that it's almost American to do that and they say something in politics you have to talk about yourself and thank your family. >> The main thing behind his little much loss in the election was his policies and the men could be withdrawn or his forces from Afghanistan. And I think the local residents that will-- I mean-- keeping in view the orders of Obama to withdraw forces from Afghanistan were happy with the decision. >> Uh huh. >> But as he lost, I mean almost lost the midterm election of the parliament, so people say that Americans are not going to leave Afghanistan.
