[ MUSIC ] Everybody's got different personality types, and that especially applies to money. So if you're maybe a saver and your partner is a spender, how do you reconcile those two different money personalities? What you need to do is, I have this list called the financial bucket list. So you each need to fill out one of these worksheets. And it just talks about your goals in life. Retirement, family, recreation or whatever and then you figure out that your goals are actually the same. Okay. So you might just have different personalities and different ways of spending the money but if you know your goals are the same.

Then it's really easy to move forward together and not argue. Also, you wanna make sure that you do the budget together. Spenders usually have a tighter rein on the money that's spent, right? So you usually know how to spend the money, where the saver doesn't know how to go grocery shopping. Sure. Because they're like, I don't know how to spend the money. So, you need to focus together, work together towards a common goal. And then there'll be a lot less fights. How does that help you with you discretionary spending immediately? You can give each other spending money every single week. So you each get $ 50 a week to spend money and then you can spend it however you want.

You can get the shoes or the person who's the saver can save it, whatever they wanna do. Having that communication line open is really, really, key to each give each other the freedom that you want. But how do you start that? Cuz I think that a lot of couples Money is the number one thing that they fight about. And also I think all of us have really emotionally charged relationships with money whether we're aware of it or not. Yeah. Yep. So I think you need to give each other permission to spend it the way that you want to spend it. And that's why that extra spending money you get every week is really important.

We do a five minute money check up every day, which is in the morning. Okay what do you to spend money on today? What do you have to spend money on today? We're all on the same page. It's just real quick. Get it out of the way in the morning. And it really really helps us communicate about our money and our life cuz it's not just money right, throughout the day. [ MUSIC ]
