Thanks for taking the time to speak with us today. >> Thank you. >> You've played two very different queens now, one in Star Wars and now in your new movie. What is it like playing such powerful roles? And have you learned anything about yourself from portraying these very powerful and very wonderful women? >> Absolutely. I think it's encouraged me a lot more to be a woman, speak like an adult, to say things authoritatively, and say what I want. They say that women oftentimes preface what they say with, " You know, this might sound stupid" or " I don't mean to be aggressive here, but ...,"-- >> Right. >> you know, just to sort of soften what they say or, you know, warn people, " Okay, now, I'm gonna say what I want ." And it's been really great to just-- to have the opportunity to play a leader, even though, I mean, obviously, Anne Boleyn is very ruthless in this movie. It's not exactly someone I want to emulate, but definitely, putting yourself forward, showing your intention, showing your strength is something very helpful. >> Is that idea of theme that you have to portray a certain image of, you know, as a role model to side effect the kind of roles that you played? >> I don't really consider myself a role model. I don't wanna like-- you know, I wanna lead my life as a person and I make mistakes also. I mean, I wouldn't want people to, you know, do exactly what I do or anything like that. But at the same time, there are certain things, I think, as a person, I want to do and not do. And obviously, I played a stripper in Closer. >> Uh- huh. >> But now, it sort of sickens me to like the number of scripts that I got where there's like the woman is a stripper or a prostitute or the opposite which I get a lot too because I'm just like very sort of good girl image. So, the other thing is like, " This girl who's like pure and like the moral center ." Like, the past like five things I've been offered, the director has been, like, " Yeah, she's the moral center of the story ." And so, it's really still such a virgin- whore thing-- >> Uh- huh. >> with female roles that has become very, very-- I mean, I'm very conscious of it. I don't know-- I don't-- It doesn't really have to do with being a role model, more with like how I wanna portray women-- >> Right. >> and myself. I mean, as a woman, how I want to think of women and that is so tied in with the work that I do that-- I mean, that's-- that's-- I mean, that's important to me. >> You're beautiful, talented-- >> Thank you. >> smart, and working hard to save the world. Do you have any bad qualities, nail biting, what-- >> Oh, my God. Check it out-- >> So, just give me [ unk ]. Oh, my God. >> those cuticles, rough. I've got a lot of bad qualities, yeah. I shouldn't advertise them, though, because they're like-- I really want people to like me, which is probably not a good quality. That's a bad quality. >> It's common for actors to endorse candidates in politics. Do you think that celebrities should use their stardom to help influence voters? >> Sure. I'm interested to hear who people I respect are voting for. That doesn't mean I'll listen to just anyone who goes on TV and endorses a candidate. Gloria Steinem wrote this op- ed in The New York Times that fully influenced me towards Clinton and that was because I respect her. It's not because, oh, just some famous person endorsed Clinton, you know. It's someone I initially already respected. >> Right. Do you think that you might run for office someday? I know you've been asked that question before. So, one of our readers-- >> Well, I haven't really thought about it ever. I haven't really considered that before, but I guess it's not a bad idea. I mean, I'm not gonna be getting parts in like five, 10 years, right? I'll be over the hill. >> Well, I don't know about that.
