## Transcript

The wait is over, Verizon and Netflix customers. Literally, the deal the two companies stuck, hopefully means you'll get to watch videos a lot faster and smoother. Netflix agreed to pay an undisclosed amount for more access to Verizon's Fios Broadband network. Hopefully putting an end to that spinning wheel of impatience. And it should be coming up any second. Tech analyst Walter Piecyk broke the news over Twitter late Monday afternoon. With a Netflix spokesman confirming the deal less than an hour later. This is the second recent deal Netflix made with a major internet service provider. Starting with Comcast in February.

The original feud which Netflix and Verizon refuse to call a standoff. Really got heated in January when Netflix said its prime time speeds dropped 14 % on Verizon networks. It happened just as the second season of the hit original series House of Cards was set for debut. Netflix and ISPs have fought a war of words for months. On which one should foot the bill for the massive amounts of bandwidth users eat up through streaming videos. Netflix' 36 million US customers make up an estimated 1 3rd of the country's downstream traffic. According to a report compiled by an internet traffic management company, in November.

That companies chief tech officer told the Wall Street Journal, regardless of which side gives in, it's going to cost people money. They're just waiting to see who blinks first. It looks like it was Netflix's this round. And for the foreseeable future, considering this is it's second recent deal. The company released this chart of it's average download speed by ISP for March. Which showed Comcast jumping six spots in the month after the two companies struck a deal. Looks like Verizon may see the same results very, very soon. Thanks for watching. I'm Megan Judy.
