The fresh lavatory was developed to explore and demonstrate technologies that will appeal to customers who value cleanliness. Sanitary surfaces and a fresh appearance. The fresh lavatory incorporates a number of innovative technologies. It uses light colors and has improved lighting to give a sense of freshness. It also incorporates antimicrobial coatings in key touch surfaces to inherently improve sanitation. Lav sensors detect the lav is occupied, which enables touchless features and disables the far UV sanitation lamps. The toilet lid and toilet seat can be raised and lowered the old fashioned manual way, or using the touchless IR sensors incorporated into the fresh lavatory. With the wave of a hand, the toilet lid and seat can be raised and lowered. The toilet flushes using a touchless sensor. The fresh lavatory soap dispenser and faucet both use touchless sensors. The faucet has an optional foot switch in case a customer needs constant water flow In addition, Far- UV technology could be used to sterilize the water just upstream of the faucet. When you're done washing, the hand dryer is also touchless and is much quieter than industrial hand dryers. Even the trash is touchless with the trash lid actuated using a foot pedal. When the customer leaves the lavatory and closes the door, a sensor checks to ensure the lav is empty. If it is, then Far- UV lamps are turned on. They disinfect the toilet and the sink area. During this process, the toilet lid is automatically raised to facilitate seat disinfection. Far- UV is so affective that only a few moments are required to substantially disinfect the lavatory.
