[ BLANK_AUDIO ] Since Fiat returned to the United States a couple of years ago after buying Chrysler, it's lived mostly on it's 500, the Cinque Centa that famous little car and some stretched versions of it for the US. But it really didn't have a sporty car, something you could have fun in. And this is it, this is the 2017, Fiat 124 Spider. [ MUSIC ] There's something interesting and a bit familiar about Fiat 124. It's actually made in the same plant that the Miata is made in. So, what do you get in the Fiat versus the Miata? Well, Italian tailoring for one. [ MUSIC ] One of the attractions of sportsters like this is they're not too expensive to get into.

This is the Lusso version. There are three different models. This starts at 27 five about. Fairly smooth transmission on this automatic. particularly in going from say 50 to 70 there's not a lot of power in the car it's not designed for it. Four cylinder 160 horsepower turbo- charged engine. Now that's actually quite a bit for a car of this weight the the multi- air system is a technology that fiat invented which gives it ideal fuel mixture and performance which is the reason that you get about 30 miles to the gallon. So this is a highly computerized little engine. [ MUSIC ] This is not mission control here and you don't need it.

You're just having fun driving this car, you don't need a million different gadgets to play with and you don't get them. Basic air conditioning controls, heated seats, some inputs for your device Here's your infotainment system, pretty basic. So, you've got the top down, you really don't want to have a lot of drinks hanging around, but even if you do, you've got adjustable cup holders here. This is the 6- speed automatic transmission, it's about $ 1, 400 extra. True sports car enthusiasts Would probably opt for the stick, but this is not a bad option. It's fairly smooth. So, what can you expect out of a sportster and a convertible like this?

Well, you can't expect a lot of room. Seats are tight. There's not much trunk space. Although, this trunk is slightly elongated from the Miata version. You're not gonna get your golf clubs in. Maybe you'll get your tennis racquets. But it's mostly about having fun on the drive. And you put the top down, you let it roll, and what else matters? [ MUSIC ]
