## Transcript

As I announced just days ago, the United States has also reached an unprecedented agreement regarding the northern frontier of North America. The large and strategically vital piece of land known as Greenland. This agreement, made with the Kingdom of Denmark, an incredible, beautiful country and the Greenland people itself, gives the United States permanent control over security and all other needs on that territory. We will have the complete ability to do what is necessary to defend the American continent, and also Europe and other places. No U.S. adversary will ever be permitted to establish a military presence in Greenland anymore, or make sensitive investments there without our express written approval.

We will immediately begin the process of developing a large military presence in the appropriate locations. We will be building two very major military bases. And I am very proud to say that in the Kingdom of Denmark, the United States has a friend that has always kept our word, an ally you have always been able to rely on. And this day represents a milestone in our long standing cooperation. 75 years ago, we entered into an agreement about the defense of Greenland. Today, we are signing an even bigger and better agreement, a deal that can last forever for Greenland. This is not only an agreement about us.

It is an agreement with us. It takes into account the people of Greenland, our rights, our livelihoods, and the development of our country. This has been a key priority for us throughout this process and a welcomed outcome of what we sign here today. We are truly pleased with the result that strengthened our shared security and strengthen our bond as close allies. This agreement is historical and it is about taking shared responsibility for this. For a secure America, a secure Greenland with mutual respect and a peaceful Arctic. This is a win win win agreement.
