## Transcript

Malaysian officials saw first hand at their most recent press conference the Chinese families of missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 passengers are losing patience. [ SOUND ] At Wednesday's briefing, Chinese relatives were escorted away from the briefing at a hotel near Kuala Lumpur International Airport, where the missing flight took off from on March 8th. But Wednesday's press conference included some key developments. Someone appears to have deleted some of the files from the flight simulator found in Captain Zaharie Shah's home. The same simulator Captain Shah was sitting in front of in a YouTube video.

We now know officials are trying to recover files missing from that homemade flight simulator found in the home of Flight 370's pilot. Malaysia's Defense Minister warned reporters the pilot is innocent until proven guilty, and the discovery of deleted files alone isn't necessarily incriminating. We also learned officials believe the plane likely flew into the southern arc of their search area. While that could narrow the search significantly, an unnamed U. S. official still said that area is outside normal shipping lanes or flight patterns. While the relatives' frustration has increased over the last couple of weeks, searchers know the opportunity to get help from the plane's systems will soon go from slim to none.

There are less than three weeks before batteries are expected to die in the plane's pingers used to signal rescuers. Though an ocean search specialist still said, even when you know roughly where the target is, it can be very tricky to find pinger. They have a very limited range. Malaysian officials also recently announced new evidence suggesting someone with technical knowledge of the plane diverted the aircraft off its flight path about 12 minutes before the pilot signed off for the last time.
