[ MUSIC ]. Hi, I'm Claire Suddath with Time Magazine and this is what's on Pop Chart this week. And this, is a seven pound gummy skull from the Flaming Lips. The Flaming Lips have started selling a four song USB port that's embedded in this gummy skull's brain. It's made out of like, the same material as a gummy bear. They also released a six hour song that comes with a strobe light toy. And, they have announced plan to release a 24 hour song that comes in a real human skull. So what the heck is going on with the Flaming Lips? I talked to Wayne Coyne, the frontman of the band who said, well, our fans like to take drugs and listen to our music.

Yeah okay, that makes sense. In more music news that is definitely less sticky, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon have decided to split after 27 years of marriage. The band has been around for 31 years and still plans to play concerts this fall. That's gonna make for some awkward concerts. You know what else is going to be awkward? The National Book Awards. The National Book Foundation, which gives out the awards, recently announced the finalist for it's Young People's Literature category and they actually nominated the wrong book. I know what you're probably thinking. She doesn't look like a witch.

Instead of a book called Chime by Franny Billingsley, they nominated Shine by Lauren Myracle. Billingsley's book was later nominated and Myracle was asked to drop out of consideration. Wow, that is really awkward. So what do you think is the most pirated movie of all time? According to the BitTorrent site, TorrentFreak, the answer is Avatar. And according to Netflix, The Blind Side is the most rented video on the site. Well I guess you know what that means, suburban moms rent videos while their teenage sons go off to college and use high speed internet to download, well Avatar. And finally, we have some good news and some bad news for you this week.

If you like the Brit pop band The Stone Roses you'll be happy to know that after 15 years the group is coming back together for a reunion tour. But if you like UB40 you might be a little sad. Some of the members have recently been declared bankrupt. That's it. That's all I've got for you on Pop Chart this week. Check back next week when we'll have more for you.
