## Transcript

It may be the smallest of the soda big three but Dr. Pepper Snapple Group is likely the envy of many in the industry just for staying in line with earnings predictions. The company posted its fourth quarter earnings Thursday largely bucking the recent sales slump for sugary drinks. CSD's grew 2 %. And non- carbs increased 1 %. CSD's being carbonated soft drinks. While sales for the Dr. Pepper namesake stayed flat, the company's four other major drinks increased sales by 3 % in the fourth quarter, led largely by Canada Dry. Mexican brand Penafiel surged 17 % in the quarter as well. And that, in and of itself, might help explain why Dr.

Pepper is doing better than its larger rivals for now at least. Coca- Cola and Pepsi already posted their numbers with a global sales slump hurting both soft drink giants besides a more health conscious US market shying away from soda. Foreign markets hurt Coke and Pepsi because of a strong dollar and economies slowing down worldwide both companies have announced significant cost cutting programs in recent years. Dr. Pepper's total net earnings in the fourth quarter came to 100 $ 50 million down 6 million from profits this time last year. As for the future, Dr Pepper reported it expects 2015 core earnings per share at $ 3.

80 to $ 3. 88, slightly less than what analysts predicted.
