[ MUSIC ] You can reach your hand out. You can actually reach over and shake his hand. Project Morpheus is our new VR system for our PlayStation 4. And it gives you this very immersive experience when you put it on. You can turn your head around and look and see a, a full 360 view of the world when you're inside virtual reality. [ MUSIC ] [ LAUGH ] Here's your camera. So at Project Magic Lab we're part of a research group of Playstation, and our job is really to take technology and create prototype experiences, and see what that technology would be good for. And we, we kinda have the freedom to make these tech demos explore.

And then when the game developers are excited about it, we hand it off to the professionals who make the games with it. [ MUSIC ] Our number one focus with Morpheus is to push the boundaries of play. We want to give the most intense kind of gaming experience we can to our customers. So grab a sword on your left or right. If you look back to your left or right here on the ground there, yep there you go. We have the Castle demo which uses the PlayStation moves and that is the, the most interactive. You can really reach into the 3D world with your two hands and do things. The Dragon gives you a really great sense of scale.

Actually it feels huge. I mean, to us it only looks like a, you know, couple feet tall but to you it looks a little bit more. Yeah. We also have another demonstration of, EVE: Valkyrie and The Deep, which use the traditional DualShock. [ MUSIC ] And then we have the, the simplest interface is the Street Luge demo we have here, which actually doesn't use any controller whatsoever. You just lean your head left and right to control yourself as you're hurtling down the road, so there is. There's a track in my head. Yeah, it knows Aah! It knows the tilt of your head from the accelerometer and a gyro inside too.

At this stage right now, we have a prototype and we think that prototype is great for developing content. When we have the, the hardware to the point where we're ready and actually there's enough game experiences ready for people, that's when we'll see the products hit the market. [ MUSIC ] At PlayStation Magic Lab we've shown, recently, is the idea of being able to track what your eyes are looking at and the screen. And using that for control and giving that information to the game. Italy. Alaska. There's a lot of different things that are enabled by that. We hooked it up to Infamous Second Son actually, and it could control the, control the camera motion and it also can control the the aiming of the targets.

So, is that, it's very similar to the way your neck and your eyes work together. When you want a gross motion you usually use your neck, but for a subtle motion you use your eyes. So, you don't even really have to think about it, as you're playing, it just feels very natural they way your head already does it, you know, normally. [ MUSIC ]
