Shes' billing it as an alternative to the mainstream media. Here's a look at Sarah Palin's online news channel by the numbers. Are you tired of the media filters? Well I am. I always have been. So we're gonna do something about it. I want to talk directly to you, on our channel on my terms. The website which launched Sunday promises to discuss the great issues of the day. And work toward solution. It's features include group video chats, behind the scenes videos. As well as a countdown to President Obama's last day in office. All of this can be yours for $ 9. 95 a month, or $ 99. 95 for the entire year.

For some perspective, that's just a bit more than a basic monthly membership to Netflix. But it's the exact same monthly price that you'll pay for Blaze TV, the online network launched by conservative show host Glen Beck back in 2011. And the site some believe Palin's channel is modeled after. The former Alaska governor is producing the channel with TAPP TV, a subscription based online network that offers shows for celebrities with big fan bases. And with one million Twitter followers and four million Facebook likes Palin certainly meets that criteria. Capital New York, which broke the story back in March, wrote at the time Palin's large social media presence is probably a big factor in Tapp's recruitment of her.

She may not have a daily radio or talk show, but she clearly has loyal fans. And while she may have a large online following those numbers don't appear to reflect public opinion. A recent NBC Wallstreet [ UNKNOWN ] poll 54 % of voters have heard enough from her. Saying Palin is too vocal on political issues. But that hasn't kept Palin out of the spotlight with other projects. Some of which are pretty profitable. There's her estimated $ 1, 000, 000 contract with Fox News where she's a contributor for the network. Speaking engagement, where Palin reportedly commands a $ 100, 000 fee and she's still raking in loyalties from her TLC reality show which at the time earned her a reported $ 250, 000 per episode.
