## Transcript

[ APPLAUSE ] The World Cup is the most important event in Soccer. And starting June 6, 2014 will compete for the title in Canada. Here's 5 players to watch during this year's Women's World Cup. During her 15 year career, American Abby Wambach has scored 182 international goals. [ MUSIC ] More than any man or woman in history. At 35, she's leading the US in what is likely her last shot for a World Cup win. She'll get help from fellow striker, Alex Morgan, whose breakout performance during the 2011 World Cup proves she's one of the most talented players in the world. And rightful air to Wamback and Mia Hamm as the standard bearer of US soccer.

The 25 year old was sidelined for the teams last three World Cup tune up matches because of the bone bruise in her left knee. But she's expected to play in America's June 8th open. Brazil's Marta has won more player of the year honor On Earth, five than Hamm, Wambak or any other player in history. Marta has a staggering 91 goals in 92 games, earning comparisons to country mate Taylor, who agrees with her. Can she score? Yes she can! The sure hands of goal keeper Nadine Angerer lead Germany into this years cup. [ MUSIC ] The 2013 FIFA word player of the year was the first goalkeeper, man or woman to win the award.

[ APPLAUSE ] She announces that she will retire after the world cup, ending her memorable 20 year career. The home team's captain. Christine Sinclair of Canada, was 16 when she made her senior national team debut in 2000. 15 years later, she's the most decorated player in Canadian soccer history, scoring 153 goals, ranking her third on the all- time list. Six in the wool. It is over. Brilliant. What a strike from one of the world's. Canada is looking to avenge a controversial loss to the Americans at the 2012 Olympics. The U. S. is long overdue for a world cup. It's been 16 years since this last one.

The rest of the world keeps getting better. This Summer in Canada, the stakes are at an all time high.
