After a selection and then a fallout in Boston. And I refuse to commit to signing a guarantee that uses taxpayers' dollars to pay for the Olympics. The US Olympic Committee has officially chosen Los Angeles to race for the 2024 Olympics on behalf of the US. It's my distinct honor today to formally name The city of Los Angeles as the U. S. bid to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympics. In year's past host cities have sunk billions of dollars in creating olympic venues and supporting infrastructure. Just to see them abandoned weeks later. The Sochi olympics in Russia cost more than $ 50 billion to put on.

But many are pointing out Los Angeles wouldn't need a crazy influx of venues. Was in the city's successful and fiscally responsible 1984 games could help but make a strong case for the International Olympic Committee. Los Angeles County is home to more than 10 million people, 7 professional sports teams, and 2 universities with enrollment of more than 40, 000 students each. And of course we should mention the emphatic Push to bring an NFL football team to LA. At least two proposals are on the table for new state of the art stadiums with capacities ranging from 60 thousand to 80 thousand. Add neighboring Anaheim's additional Pro stadiums and amenities and you've got a strong foundation.

Reports say the Memorial Coliseum would be the focal point of the games. The stadium is currently home to the USC Trojans football team and holds about 93, 000 people. It hosted the 1932 and 1984 Olympic Games. The OIC will select the official host of the 2024 Olympics in the summer of 2017.
