## Transcript

For Steve Job just came onset that his company, Apple, so it's an iPad every 3 seconds. Every 3 seconds. So if you think that this tablet thing is just kind of a passing fad, you are crazy. In that spirit, simple companies at the Coputex Taipei show in Taiwan have been showing off their own tablets in an effort to become the next iPad killer. MSI Windpad U100, it's a 10- inch Windows 7, tablet's 1. 7 pounds. The problem with this is the screen resolution is only 1024 by 600. It does have 2- gigabytes of RAM, where most of the tablets announced only had 1- gigabytes, so that's a plus there. But the screen resolution, that's too small.

Come on. Give us something big, like a little bit of X10. Android 2. 2, 10. 1- inch screen, 1366 by 768 resolution, which means HP quality video. That'll be great for surfing websites. 10- hour battery, and apparently there's a Windows 7 version 2. Not much known about the price release date. The MSI Windpad U100 will be available later this year for $ 500 bucks. And then ASUS, the company that arguably started the netbook Craze announced its line of Eee pads. Three E's, pad. There is a two 10- inch versions. One that runs Android that supposedly be priced around $ 400 bucks. And then, another 10- inch version that runs Windows- embedded Compact 7, which is kind of a scaled back version of Windows 7.

That will have an [ unk ] to CPU, 10- hour battery, and apparently be priced at $ 500 bucks. And then the big story, 12- inch Windows 7 Home Premium version. It's got a docking keyboard that you can buy separately, that folds up and makes it essentially a portable laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 599. Unfortunately, all these ASUS Eee pads won't be available until next year. I was gonna record and say that I don't figuratively care for the killer moniker that gets applied to potential products, so I don't think any of these is to die in the name of consumer electronics. But I suppose that, you know, potential neighbors of Apple's on Tablet Street, and Computerville USA is a little too long.

And that is-- that's sensational.
