What in the world is happening on wall street? Just when you thought all was clear for the market the Dow Jones average sank more than 420 points on April 24th. Stocks haven't been on this much of a roller coaster ride in years. And while taking risks is the key to success in investing, experts urge caution and warn we could see a downturn. Ray Dalio, investor and founder of Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, thinks the US economy is currently in the pre- bubble stage that could go into a bubble stage next. And like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet before him, Dalio sees a recession on the horizon.

At a recent appearance at the Harvard Kennedy School's Institute of Politics, Dalio said this. Probability of a recession prior to the next presidential election would be Relatively high. What would I say? I don't know 70 % or something like that? So what does a potential market crash mean for your wallet? The past two stock market crashes in 2000, and 2007 have preceded a recession. What's more, a stock market crash directly effects your 401k plan, because most peoples' retirement savings are in index funds filled with stocks. With a typical 401K coming in at $ 25, 000, but don't get spooked.
