## Transcript

Welcome to the PageCast. It's Wednesday, January 9th. I'm Mark Halperin in Manchester, New Hampshire. Your three things to watch for in politics today: First, the map and the calendar, which dates matter now? It's not really clear what priority the press will give to the upcoming contest. Iowa and New Hampshire were crystal clear, really important. Look now to see where the candidates go and watch them gauge how the press will treat wins in different upcoming states. Second, on the Democratic side, watch to see between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, who gets the upper hand today in the spin wars.

Is there a frontrunner? Which candidate is able to say the day go forward with more momentum? It would seem that Hillary Clinton off of New Hampshire will have more momentum, but watch to see how the Obama campaign deals with that today. The Clinton campaign as well, aggressive. We move forward now to other states, those two will battle it out. John Edwards will stick around, that probably helped Hillary Clinton. But watch to see that dynamic. And then finally, on the Republican side, watch to see if the other candidates decide that they have to stop John McCain. There's a debate on Thursday night in South Carolina.

Do the candidates wait until then to go after him or is today a day to try to stop John McCain's momentum? Those are your three things to watch for in politics today. You can get all the political news all day right here on The Page. For now in Manchester, New Hampshire, I'm Mark Halperin. Thanks for watching the PageCast.
