## Transcript

[ SOUND ] I can't paint, I can't draw. Where I feel creative is on the wrestling mat. There's so many possibilities and it's just that constant puzzle and game that you got to play with your self. It's not a sport where you can depend on anybody else but yourself. And every single time you step in that ring it's just another validation to yourself that you're good enough to accomplish your goals. [ MUSIC ] I first started wrestling when I was 6 years old. My dad got me into it. [ INAUDIBLE ] I wrestled boys through high school and competing against the men taught me a lot. I am not as strong as the boys in a lot of positions so I have to make up for that by being smarter than they are.

I owe them so much, and I really respect the boys who treated me as an athlete because they made me the athlete I am today. When I got into high school I ended up going to a women's event and I won. And all of a sudden it became a reality. This is something I could actually do. I could go and win world championships, and olympic medals. [ INAUDIBLE ] That was just kind of a light bulb that went off. I officially became part of Team USA and I moved to the Olympic Training Center at the end of my senior year of high school and I've been living here ever since. [ SOUND ] Let's go girls. Shoes on.

Let's get going. In 2012, we only had four weight classes for the Olympics. I was ranked very high in non- Olympic weight class. I decided to go down a weight class. I lost close to 30 pounds. To lose in the finals round was a heartbreak for sure. One of the great things that happened in this past couple years is we added more weight classes for the women. And that's just an amazing feeling to know that my division is going to be an Olympic- contested event. [ MUSIC ] Kay, just get moving a little bit. I've been working with Adeline since 2009. Just keep your legs driving. Don't get in an arm fight.

I really haven't seen an athlete like Adeline like this before, men or women. Just her confidence in herself and in her abilities to get the job done. I think is really second to none. It was good. You keep moving in, you keep bringing your hips in, that's good. [ MUSIC ] My dad was always like, yeah, I love thick thigh. I'm like, dad, don't say that. He's like nah, thick legs are where it's at. And as I got older I'm like, yeah, thick legs is where it's at! I weight 175 pounds. I mean, no one would ever consider me dainty. But at the same time, I think there needs to be that new level and that new idea of what beauty can be.

I think a lot of girls' dreams fall short because they don't see those idols that are out there like they are in the NBA or the NFL. It's gonna take more exposure of women being highlighted, and having young girls being able to dream that they could do that. It's a pretty special thing to see a dream that got implanted years ago come true. I'm the best girl in the world right now, and I'm hoping to be the first Olympic Gold Medalist for Team USA for women's wrestling. USA on three. One, two, three. USA! [ MUSIC ]
