## Transcript

The Haspel nomination is one of the most self- serving abuses of power in recent history. I don't know of another occasion when the person who was up for nomination was given the sole ability To decide what about her background would be classified and what wouldn't. I'm gonna make sure that we put on the record every bit of the limited information that the American people apparently are gonna have access to. I said that What I, I had heard from Ms. Haspul in her private settings in terms of refuting that program and her letter to me. The fact that she was overwhelmingly supported by frankly broad strokes of the intelligent community.

Including officials from the Obama administration. The individuals we just were having before our hearing were all strong supporters. And the fact that I believe that she has both the temperament and courage to stand up to this president should he try to bring forward a torture program. Or for that matter, anything else that is immoral or inappropriate.
