## Transcript

The battle against Ebola doesn't start at the hospital door. It starts with education. In Liberia musicians are taking up the cause in their own way, producing songs with the Ebola theme. Takanjay is one of the countries most popular musicians. He is working on a new song about Ebola that will be part of a national education campaign. [ MUSIC ] Ebola, [ INAUDIBLE ] people die from Ebola, Ebola Ebola. Even bars and clubs are getting into the act. Code 146, a popular live music venue in downtown Monrovia. Wants its patrons to have a good time, but it wants them to stay safe too. Clients can't come in unless they wash their hands.

And their temperature is checked at the door since one of the first signs of infection is a fever. And house MC, DJ Blake, has folded Ebola lessons into his act, telling the dancers to get close but not too close. [ INAUDIBLE ] [ MUSIC ] Patients at one of Monrovia's Ebola treatment centers don't need any reminders. The virus continues to take a huge toll on the population and the treatment centers are struggling to keep up. The island clinic treatment center, which opened last week, was full to capacity within two days. Here, people who are suspected of having Ebola are waiting to be admitted.

A few beds in the clinic opened overnight, when some of the previous patients died. That's how it goes in many of the treatment centers. Patients come, they die. And more come to take their place. When a patient does survive it's cause for celebration. That's the message DJ Blake likes to spread as well. Ebola is real he says, but it's not a death sentence. For Time. com this is Erin Baker.
