## Transcript

Soon after the shooting deaths of nine people at a historically black church in Charleston, South Carolina, Facebook photos of the alleged shooter Dylan Roof began circulating online. One of those photos showed Roof wearing a jacket with two flags rarely seen today. The first patch shows the old flag of apartheid era South Africa Africa, which in the last half of the twentieth century practiced institutionalized segregation imposed by minority white rule. The Southern Poverty Law Center says it has seen the flag show up at several white supremacist demonstrations in the U. S. in the last few years, including rallies by a group called the South Africa Project, which raises awareness of alleged genocide against white farmer, Was in South Africa.

The Apartheid fight has also appeared at what are called WHITE MAN MARCHES. These marches have taken place in the UK and are driven by an ideology that attempts to maintain political and cultural white power around the world. [ UNKNOWN ] The other fight is over the. Now known as Zimbabwe. From the mid 1960s to the late 1970s, Rhodesia has a predominantly white government ruling a majority black populus. Experts say they haven't seen the flag show up at protests, but they have seen it show up on websites hosted by white Nationalists. Many thought both flags were another edition to the ash heap of history, but for some, they're finding a second life.
