## Transcript

I believe a lot of people resist working in retirement simply because of conventional wisdom. They're told once you quit the workforce, once you get to age 62 or age 65, you shouldn't work there after. We have this notion that maybe work isn't the happiest place to be. And for a lot of people it isn't because they're doing jobs they don't especially enjoy. But if you can think about the parts of your current job that you enjoy or you can look back through your life and think about things that you did that you found exciting and that you were passionate about. Maybe that can be the basis for a part- time job in retirement and that can give you not only the satisfaction that you want, but also a little bit of money as well.

One of the things that people say occasionally [ MUSIC ] It's, I never wanna retire. I always wanna work and I think that's unrealistic. I mean, there is gonna be a point that we all reach where either because of ill health or simply because of the matter of energy that it takes that we're not gonna be able to get up in the morning. And go to work. Most of us, with any luck, that's not gonna arrive until maybe the second half of our seventies. So early in retirement you might think about working part time, you might use that money to hep pay the bills in retirement and to pay for the travel and to give you a more financially secure retirement, but I wouldn't bet.

Of being able to do that for your entire retirement. That, I believe, is unrealistic. [ MUSIC ]
