## Transcript

It's been more than four years since Brittany Murphy's death. And, now her final film is finally being released. Something Wicked is a psychological thriller. And will debut at Regal Cinemas in Eugene, Oregon on April 4th before a wider roll out. The venues were chosen to honor the film's shooting location. In the film, the Clueless star plays a psychiatrist who observes a honeymooning couple's deteriorating relationship. And sets out to determine what sinister forces are driving the madness. Writer, producer Joe Colleran, describes Murphy's performance as the most chilling of her career. My mom won't be there to help me pick out my dress.

[ MUSIC ] They will be there. Just not physically. They wouldn't miss it for the world. The film is being released independently. And Colleran told the New York Daily News, it took some time to deal with Murphy's passing. Those factors combined to explain why it took four years to get the movie into theaters. The first months of reviewing the footage, and starting to put things together. And then seeing and hearing her voice, it's very emotional. It is an additional responsibility. You do want her performance to be the best it can be, because unfortunately, it's her last performance. Murphy wrapped production on the film, not long before she died in her Hollywood home in December 2009.

From pneumonia, anemia and a multiple drug intoxication, at the age of 32. Five months later, her husband, screenwriter Simon Monjack died of similar causes. And there's still a lot of mystery surrounding both deaths. In 2013, Murphy's father Angelo Bertolotti, said she had been poisoned. But the county coroner dismissed the claim. I'm Cliff Judy.
