## Transcript

Yahoo is seeking another lifeline three years after Marissa Mayer quit Google to become CEO. The Internet company says it will lay off another 15 % of staff in another round of cutbacks. Reporting a $ 4. 4 billion loss last quarter, Yahoo also announced an aggressive strategic plan to simplify the company. That includes raising more than $ 1 billion by selling non- strategic assets. yahoo said it will focus on its successful global platforms, search, mail and Tumbler as well as on their popular media articles, news, sports, finance, and lifestyle. this plan is drastic, but there is no guarantee that it will work.

Yahoo tried mass layoffs and cutbacks back in 2012 and faces a similar financial situation now Mayer said the company is more modern now and poised for greater success going forward.
