## Transcript

[ MUSIC ] NBA's Draft Day descends onto Brooklyn's Barclays Center on June 21st, and all 30 teams are in the final stretch, reviewing prospect workouts Holding interviews and serious trade conversation. Last year's draft was infamously stacked with high- end prospects such as Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell, resulting in one of the best rookie showings in memory. But there's still plenty of promise in this year's draft which could shepherd a new crop of future All- Stars for the NBA, but it's not a perfect science. Every year, there are major draft mistakes that have the potential to set franchises back.

From the six teams that passed on Steph Curry in 2009. To Portlands miss in 2007 losing out on all star Kevin Durant no team wants to be the **** of Lebron's jokes. I mean that's Kevin Durant, so it's not like, you'd think he'd fizzle out. I mean you knew he was built for greatness. I mean from the time he was drafted. I mean every one knew that besides Portland, I guess. [ LAUGH ] Sorry, Portland, sorry. [ LAUGH ] This year, Sacramento and Atlanta have some of the toughest decisions to make. Franchises like Sacramento and Orlando pick in the lottery every year, but can't seem to get it right.

And will Sacramento finally be able to take advantage of their number two pick or will they suffer form a Hasheem Thabeet level blunder. Well, we spoke with Sports Illustrated's NBA draft analyst, Jeremy Woo to discuss what hurdles these teams face and who they should be looking at. All right, Jeremy, thanks so much for joining us. Let's get right to it. So Sacramento's obviously under a lot of pressure to get this draft right. And we have a really strong draft class this year. So who should they really be looking at, and is there any possible way that they could **** this up? Well, I think the feeling around the league right now is that the Kings have zeroed in on Marvin Bagley from Duke at number two, which I think is viewed as an option that's fairly safe.

I think not screwing it up, I think he's gonna be on their mind. I think Bagley is viewed a very productive college player as a guy who might be able to help them early on. A guy who's at least gonna give you some value in NBA. I think Luka Doncic from Real Madrid and Slovenia should be in consideration for the pick. But it's not clear, the talk has been that they're a little bit lower on Luka. So I can see him falling past there. It may come back to bite them in the end. Now the Atlanta Hawks are obviously positioning themselves for a rebuild. So who should they be looking at, and what's the biggest mistake you think they should look to avoid?

Well, Doncic also will end up in the mix for Atlanta. I think that Jaren Jackson Jr. from Michigan State is also a very strong option. Atlanta might be in position to trade the pick, and I think they will look into potentially moving down from number three, I don't know if they will do it, but they'll explore all those options. I think they just need to make sure that they are getting A talent they feel like they can develop into a star. They're in a rare early stages of a rebuild, so I think either of those places at that spot is a strong direction for them going forward, so it could go either way.

Yeah, but of course, we'll see who goes where tomorrow right. Mm- mm. All right, Jeremy, thanks so much for joining us. [ MUSIC ].
