## Transcript

Wal Mart's latest retail project and one of its more important ones in recent memory has nothing to do with the store fronts or what you can find inside really. The find- everything- under- one- roof retailer hopes you'll think of them under the comfort of your own. And there's a very definite motivator driving the change. Look at this. Wal Mart taking on Amazon by. Personalizing online shopping. Trying to basically play catch up to Amazon. com. Whether the storefront retailer can actually pull off legit competition with the all- online rival is yet to be seen. But here's what it means for you.

Besides suggesting items based on previous purchases, Wal- Mart's site will be customized based on your location. It hopes a refined search will get you to the product you want faster. And the checkout process is also designed to be faster. The company also wrote, it's taking a tablet first approach. An example used by the Associated Press says, if you search for sports jerseys, new results would come back for the team closest to your city instead of random results. SImilar challenges to Amazon haven't fared well thus far. When Alibaba's 11 Main first made headlines, Money's Kristen Bellstrom concluded it was no match for the American online retailer.

Can you take advantage of Amazon's free shipping options? If so, make the Seattle- based retailer your first click. You're up Walmart. Good luck.
