## Transcript

I heard a big explosion. I didn't know what was going on. So I decided to look out my window. It's a building complex so you could see the other side of the building. It started going into smoke. My neighbors came banging on my door telling me to get out. That I guess they was evacuating the building. And I couldn't get out, my door was jammed. Everything off my window sill fell. And I guess the impact of the explsion Jammed the door as well. How loud was it? It was extremely loud. I couldn't, I couldn't even explain it to you if I could. It was just so loud that I, it woke me up out of my sleep.

That's how loud it was. I saw a man, looks like your father, was it, came up just a few minutes ago embraced you. Yes he did, because he was so worried by the way that I called him. I was I was actually almost having an anxiety attack. DeVon Brown works in the area and he lives in the area. What did you hear, DeVon? I heard two big boom. boom. And thank God that I passed through there, I didn't get hurt. Do you live very, you said you were on your way to work. You live right around the corner? I live right around the corner. I was on my way to work. Did, people said that they smelled gas. Did you smell any gas or anything?

I didn't smell no gas, just heard two big, boom. boom And everybody saw that running, running crazy outside. Yeah. That's it. What happened, did you see them, Mrs. [ UNKNOWN ] said she saw them taking people away in an ambulance. Yeah, I seen them take at least 30 people or more in an ambulance. And I think that there's bodies still on the porch. I think that's from people who are living in the area here, but I do, we don't know if there's still people underneath the brick, obviously, but. I can say, from my vantage point, I can still see members of the fire department, police officers, going hand by hand, picking through debris.

Ten minutes after the explosion, I was at 123rd and when it, I felt it all the way there in my living room as it shook. When I got here I saw tons of people kind of pouring out of a few buildings here. One... 16 and Madison Avenue in East Harlem. There's a few groups of people here speaking with the police. I'm actually not sure, they haven't confirmed if they have they have a loved one, or anyone inside. But there's groups of, you know 50 or so people standing on each side of the street. Outside of the laundromats, you know bodegas here. Trying to get some information from police about what's going on.
