## Transcript

There are two games left to play in the World Cup's so called group of death. USA versus Germany and Portugal versus Ghana. For USA fans to keep cheering in the round of 16, one of three things could send them to the next round right away. USA rallies and beats the second best ranked team in the world, Germany. The USA at least ties powerhouse Germany, or Portugal and Ghana tie in their match. But, let's put our patriotism aside for a second and assume that the U. S. loses to Germany. There's still a few ways the U. S. could move on. Teams in the World Cup get three points for winning, two points for a draw, and 0 points for losing.

As it stands, the U. S. is tied with Germany at four points each. If the U. S. loses Germany gets three points and the top spot in the group of death. Leaving the U. S. with just four points. And four could be enough if Ghana and Portugal play to a draw in their match Thursday. If they don't, the future of the U. S. Men's National Team depends on goal differential. How many goals each team scored minus how many they allowed. Surprisingly, much as the draw with Portugal may have hurt, the U. S. could end up rooting for Portugal in their next game. Germany handed Portugal a 4- 0 loss, which puts their point differential at minus four.

While the US sits at plus one. In order to move on, Portugal would not only have to beat Ghana, but make up five goals on the U. S.. Ghana was able to pull a draw with Germany, which places their point differential at a much more dangerous minus one. So, if Ghana can win their next match and gain three goals on the U. S ., they'll move on to the next round. And serve as spoiler for American soccer fans once again. If all this still leaves group G with a tie, then the second tie breaker for the World Cup comes down to total goals scored. Ghana versus Portugal and USA versus Germany. Both kick off June 26th at 1 p.

m ., local time. So, either find two TV's or keep the remote handy. Thanks for watching, I'm Jamal Andrews.
