## Transcript

>> Hi, my name's Chris Mazdzer. I'm 21 years old and I am representing the U. S. in Men's Luge. And I had the humble experience of walking in the Opening Ceremonies for the U. S. which is probably on my list of the coolest things I've ever done. And I'm gonna show you guys what's in this box, you know, we want to sit down, but first you had to move this box- oh, I should be rather uncomfortable. All right, so first and foremost, we had got a poncho. We put it on over what we are wearing. I didn't at first, all right. I did eventually, but- man, it was- it was- I was incredibly hot, but trying to cool off- we had a race- I had race the next day, so I know it was in my best interest for my race to not wear the poncho initially.

Next, we received a couple different lights. You know, it took us a while to figure out like, you know, lights and whatnot- they have numbers. And on the screens they are trying to coordinate like, you know, what lights should come on 'cause they had different colors. This one, I'm guessing is blue. So we had ushers running up and down the stairs, so they're, you know, had the different numbers and different lights and they're giving designs and like- it was like an orchestra there, conducting with lights and no, bring it up here and start waving it and then no, turn off lights so like for some scenes, all of a sudden, you look around and there is just thousands of lights moving in circles or back and forth.

We'd look around and see the whole stadium doing this. So you'd start doing this.

>> Now, what's that?

>> This is- I'm guessing, a flag. Oh yeah, the Canadian flag, of course. Everyone probably received this to represent the home team. Of course, we had American flags that we were waving, so we didn't use this item very well. So I'm gonna put it back inside the box.

>> Okay.

>> And, you know, that's about it, but, you know, instead of clapping, here's- it's rather nice- they build a nice built- in drums, so- so you've seen what's in the box. You saw the top U. S. athletes in the world to come out. You know, just being a part of that was- it's very like humbling almost to seeing everyone cheer. I was pumped. I was in the front row just like putting my hands up like trying to get everyone pumped up. It was just like, you know, it just takes over. It's just an unbelievable experience. You know, Mark Grimmette was the flag bearer and all of Luge would- we got the first row right behind Mark, so, you know, coming into the stadium you can just, [ unk ] like, " Here comes team U.

S. A ." And they start going and it's just like, you know, it just takes over. I'm just throwing up my arms in the air like, " Yeah !" like, " This is so cool ." That was my first time ever. I've never experienced that before. Everyone's like, you know, let's go U. S. A. and just to be a part of that was- that was one of the coolest experiences in my life.
