## Transcript

On Friday 17 year old Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan became the youngest person ever to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. It was for her work on children's rights. Malala is know for promoting education for girls. Especially in the region of Pakistan where she's from. The Swat Valley and of course, in 2012 she became famous when she was the target of attempted assignation by the Taliban. She was shot in the head while on a school bus. The terrorist organization has tried to restrict lor eliminate women's access to education in Pakistan. Since then Malala has continued to champion girls' education appearing at the United Nation's in 2013 on her 16th birthday to call for wider access to education for women.

Let us pick up our books and our pens. They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one book and one pen. Can change the world. Many thought she would actually win last year, but the prize instead went to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapon. Notably Malala shares Kailash Satyarthi for his work on children's rights. A decision that the Norwegian Nobel Committee. Chairman said was important for improving ties between India and Pakistan. It has an important point for a Hindu and a Muslim, an Indian and a Pakistan to join in a common struggle for education and against extremism.
