[ MUSIC ] Hello, and welcome to the first of two very special live broadcasts here at Slooh. On Monday, we will be bringing you extensive coverage, live coverage, of the transit of Mercury. We have got an absolutely awesome show planned for that rare event. But tonight, We're here to bring live coverage of the Eta Aquariids meteor shower. But as Earth plows through the [ UNKNOWN ] trail left by one of the best known comets, Comet Hailey. This point is known as the radiant. And this radiant can be marked by a particular prominent location. At the streaks of light we see appear to be coming from.

Tonight's shower is known as the Eta Aquariids because the meteors look like they're coming from the constellation of Aquarius. [ MUSIC ] Zeus had a history of swooping down from Olympus and taking the form of something or someone else in order to endure himself to the object of his affections. As previously Told stories about Zeus taking on the form of a swan to seduce Leda or even his own daughter Artemis who seduced Callisto. This time, Zeus took the form of an eagle flying down from Mount Olympus and snatching the young prince up in his talents. [ MUSIC ] Reason he had his name attached to it is because before then the comets were first of all thought to be objects just in our own atmosphere.

Not things that went around the sun. Nobody thought they orbited the sun. In many ancient cultures the skies were the domain of the gods, and the events that occurred within that domain was their will. Planets were representations of those gods, but comets, they were harbingers. Most of the time, comets were not bringers [ UNKNOWN ] of good news. [ MUSIC ]
