## Transcript

I'm deeply ashamed about Oxfam's behavior. Then everybody, the 25, 000 staff and volunteers are compromised by this. The hundreds of thousands of people who support Oxfam every month are compromised by this. And to everybody, I do apologize. What I'm apologizing for is that nine Oxfam staff Behaved in a way that was totally unacceptable and concrete to our values. And that then led much more responsible stuff to make decisions which are now seen as being. By some marginal or inappropriate. But I'm not apologizing for the fact that Oxfam tried to continue its work in Haiti. What we did afterwards was set up a safeguarding team that's particularly responsible to improve the quality and reporting investigations.

A whistle blowing line too and also to protect the affected people because it's to them we also need to apologize. Those improvements have been made. There is not a single organization which there has not been sexual abuse and exploitation. And [ UNKNOWN ] is certainly no worse than most other international organizations and actually has tried in many ways to be better. We've also been much more transparent then Any other organizations I know on this. So we have got to keep improving on those areas, we will keep improving there have been other incidents there's been nothing on this scale of this severity but in every organization every year There are incidents of sexual abuse and harassment.

Our job is to promote the positive values so staff that even go there. But also to be absolutely intolerant of anybody who does
