## Transcript

One point nine billion dollars in annual revenue and $ 568 million in profit, the makers of the ridiculously addictive Candy Crush game filed for an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. It's the App Store second highest grossing app and a pop culture sensation. And YouTube is filled with tips and tricks for the Candy Crush committed who get a free download but are charged for certain in- game micro- transactions. King Digital Entertainment, the game's maker is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. The company also offers popular games like Pet Rescue Saga and Farm Heroes Saga, but Candy Crush is its real star.

By the numbers on average 93 million people a day play Candy Crush, [ unk ] is estimating it will raise $ 500 million with the IPO for the registration fee but almost 80 percent of King's revenue comes from this one game. That has some investors worried about whether companies like it can keep people hooked and coming back, which is why some like Slate's Matthew Iglesias are calling this IPO wildly unpromising. King does say it will broaden and diversify its games and expects that its three most popular games will gradually represent a smaller portion of its total revenues. No word on the number of shares to be sold.
