## Transcript

Welcome to the PageCast. It's Tuesday, October 7th. I'm Mark Halperin in John F. Kennedy International Airport on my way to Nashville with your three things to watch for in politics today. First, watch John McCain as he prepares for the big debate. Watch him in the debate. Does he have the ability to drive the message he wants to drive? Does he have a plan? Is it clear what that plan is and does he execute it? Does he come prepared to deal with all the challenges he faces in this debate. Second, watch Barack Obama, how does he react to McCain? Does he act cautious? Does he go hard back at McCain if he's challenged?

Watch to see if Obama is able to hold his own. And then finally, watch how the public and the media watches this debate. Will there be a big audience? It's all in the headlines that the financial turmoil [ unk ]-- is a debate something that captures a national attention, gives McCain in how to create audience he needs in order to have a transformative event which he needs in this debate in Tennessee. Those are your three things to watch for in politics today. You can get all the political news all the time right here on The Page. For now in JFK, I'm Mark Halperin. Thanks for watching the PageCast.
