## Transcript

[ MUSIC ] Hi, I'm Taylor Tepper. I'm a writer here at Money, and today we're gonna talk about stocks. First thing you wanna do is go big. The bull market began in March of 2009, so we're getting into sorta the end days of this long run. That means you wanna hedge more towards Bigger companies that provide less volatility, especially now that the Fed has finally raised interest rates. So, the second thing you wanna look towards is profitability. Part and parcel with big companies providing less volatility, you're gonna want companies that churn cash and add money to the balance sheet. You're also gonna wanna look towards emerging markets.

Now emerging markets have had a difficult run ever since full market began, but now is the time you need to have the stomach to buy low and see your yields grow over time. Bot investors are a little worried these days, especially because the feds are to raise interest rates. You don't really have to worry Too much about this, because rates are gonna rise very slowly. But to get the most for your investments, look towards high quality, tax advantaged municipal bond funds. These are funds that invest in municipalities and municipal institutions, and given its tax benefits, you can actually get a higher yield on your return Than the normal treasury bond.

The dollar has been gaining strength for a while now. The Federal Reserve has just raised interest rates. [ UNKNOWN ] our dollar grows stronger. Central banks around the world are weakening their currencies. So, what does this mean for you this strong dollar? It means, take a vacation. Your dollars now are worth more of the local currency [ UNKNOWN ]. Say you've been thinking about a dream vacation in Paris or Tokyo, now is the time to act. 2015 was a very stressful year for investors. If you take advantage of some of these ideas, 2016 will be a little less stressful. [ MUSIC ]
