Ansel Elgort signs on to play pianist Van Cliburn in an upcoming film about the musician's life. The 20 year- old actor, who rose to fame, thanks to his role in the 2014 tear- jerker, The Fault in Our Stars, tweeted, some news on the movie front, along with a link to an article revealing his attachment to the film Van Cliburn. The rising star will take on the leading role in the movie, another book to movie adaptation based on the 1993 novel, by Howard Reich. The film will tell the story of the late Van Cliburn, an American pianist who won the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition at age 23.

This major achievement bridged the gap between the USSR and the United States during the cold war. According to Deadline, Elgort will play Cliburn during the time of the competition, and in his formative years. Elgort's passion for music will likely come in handy when preparing for the role. He created the musical pen- name Ansolo, and has a twitter account dedicated entirely to his musical endeavors with a description that reads in part, I make dance music.
