## Transcript

After years of failing, scientists have finally applied the same cloning technique that produced Dolly the sheep to human cells. The purpose here though, isn't to create a human clone, but to generate embryonic stem cells, which can treat disease. The breakthrough means that doctors may eventually use patients' own cells to treat diseases like diabetes. So Type 1 diabetics, for example, who don't make enough insulin, can generate their own cells that produce the hormone.
