December 14 mark the six year anniversary of the tragedy when 20 school children and six educators were killed in the Newtown Connecticut school. According to police, Richman was found at a new town community center in which he had an office Richman and his wife Jennifer Hensel used their backgrounds as scientists to create a foundation in their late daughter's name. The Avielle foundation was launched just months after the shooting. To promote research into mental health and to further examine why violence, such as a school shooting, becomes manifested by an individual who may be struggling. In addition to his work with the foundation, Richmond began lecturing nationally. And had a meeting in the White House about mental health.
