People just confirmed that Oprah Winfrey's mother Vernita Lee died on Thanksgiving. She was 83 years old. Lee was born in 1935 and worked as a housekeeper in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is survived by Winfrey and daughter Patricia Amanda Faye Lee Who she gave up for adoption as baby, but reconnected with years later. Vernita Lee had two more children who have since passed, Jeffery Lee who died in 1989 and Patricia Lee Lloyd who died in 2003. The media mogul posted to her Instagram on Thanksgiving Day, but has stayed off social media since A spokesperson for Winfrey confirmed her mother has already been laid to rest in a private funeral.
