People in their 20s probably aren't really thinking about retirement, especially if they're broke and they're worrying about other money issues. Yeah, they're worrying about how they're gonna pay their rent, exactly. So what are some strategies you can use especially as a freelancer to just Start that retirement bus. Well you have to be your own HR department. You have to be your own employer sponsored retirement plan. And that means really delving into the financial literature, and getting educated, and really challenging yourself to go out and read. Investment for dummies or whatever it is. And so, that's what I did and I opened up a Roth IRA which is a tax advantage retirement account that I can use as a freelancer but also anybody can use even after you've made your employer for a 1K contribution, you can set aside, Additional retirement savings in your Roth IRA or a regular IRA, traditional IRA.

And the benefit of a Roth is that you've already paid the taxes up front, so when you take the money out- Right, so the growth, all that money that It gets to grow over time and compound over time. When you take it out at 59 and a half or later, you don't have to pay taxes on it. What a huge advantage. Right. That's great. Yeah, yeah. [ MUSIC ]
