## Transcript

Was Sean Avery forced out of Dancing with the Stars? That's what the former hockey player is saying following his elimination from the show last week. Directly after getting the boot, Sean tweeted I will tell everyone on GMA tomorrow why I was voted off. And he made good on that promise. I think that in reality TV or some sort of competition if you have a, disagreement with the producers. Then generally that seals your fate quite early, so. Sean was referencing a video package ABC aired featuring his ex- girlfriend actress Alicia Cuthbert and this quip. I just want to comment on how. It's become, like, a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds.

The NHL suspended Avery for those comments in 2008. Cuthbert was dating another hockey player at the time and Sean's worked hard to rehab his image since. Sean said he felt like the show was trying to paint him as the bad boy of hockey, so he called producers out on it. And soon after that confrontation, Sean was kicked off the show, along with long- distance swimmer Diana Nyad in a surprise double elimination. But NBC tells People Sean's accusations are unfounded. Eliminations are based solely on public voting combined with scores from the judges. The double elimination in week two was planned in advance and producers have no hand in determining who is voted off each week.

Still Sean's dismissal seemed off to many fans. Star Wars actor Billy Dee Williams out lasted the hockey star on the show. Even though Williams earned the competition's lowest scores. He went on to pull out of the show for health reasons the week after Sean's elimination. Thanks for watching. I'm Brice Sander.
