## Transcript

So again at approximately 11: 45 hours our officers responded out here in reference to a domestic dispute. A victim met with our officers offsite here, away from the apartment, told them that her boyfriend Gary Lindsey Jr, 35 years of age, had battered her. Officers went to confront. The suspect at the apartment. The suspect shot at our officers, hitting Officer Kevin Valencia. At least one officer returned fire. It's unknown if the suspect was hit. Officer Kevin Valencia has been transported to the Orlando regional medical center. He underwent surgery and remains in critical condition. So the suspect has been in this apartment with the four children for over 12 hours.

And we are urging him to release those children and help this situation come to a peaceful resolution.
