[ CROSSTALK ] Gathering outside of the business where they worked. [ CROSSTALK ] Protesters in more than 50 cities across the country saying they don't earn enough. I have a child to take care of, I have a family, you know, I'm the breadwinner and it's not enough. Workers are calling on fast food employers to pay them a minimum of $ 15 a hour, more then double the current federal minimum wage, they also want to form unions. In Saint Louis, protesters drove home their point by going inside this McDonald's. I feel like you know the big bosses come down and, you know, from their big offices and they come and live just one month in our shoes. They would see that 7. 25 is not enough, 7. 75 is not enough. The Federal minimum wage is 7. 25, though the average fast food wage is $ 9. 00 and hour, which the industry says is fair. The National Restaurant Association told CNN, these jobs teach valuable skills and a strong work ethic that are useful for workers throughout their professional careers. Some also say that, raising pay could hurt small businesses. But workers say they're the ones hurting most.
