[ SOUND ] Up to three people headed into the building and had opened fire on people inside of the building. [ SOUND ] There's an active shooter at work, don't tell my mom. There's a guy outside shooting. What do I do. We're going to hide. [ NOISE ] Thank you. Thank you. Try to relax, everyone try to relax. I'll take a bullet before you that's for damn sure. Just be cool okay. [ SOUND ] Afterwards, we had an investigation. One of the tips that we were following up on took us to a house in Redlands, where we made contact with the suspect vehicle that we were looking for. That resulted in a pursuit which ultimately came back into the city of San Bernardino.

And on San Bernardino Avenue between Richardson and Mountain View Avenue, that pursuit terminated. There was an officer involved shooting. Last count, I've been told that we had 20 or 21 officers that were involved in the gun battle with the suspects. The two suspects that were in that car are both deceased, and I have their names. Syed Rizwan Farook. The person that was with him was a female. She is deceased as well. Her name is Tashfeen Malik. [ SOUND ] We are bringing in FBI resources. We have agents on a house in Redlands, California right now. [ SOUND ] That house, as we do not know the contents of what's in that house, but previous active shooter incidents have shown us that there are times when devices are left behind.

I just cannot express at all, how sad I am for what happened today. My condolences to the people that lost their life I wish speedy recovery to them. And, again, I am in shock that something like this could happen. That's all I have. I hope everybody understand and everybody get recovered much faster, whatever the victims out there. I have no idea. I have no idea why would he do that. Why would he do something like this? I have absolutely no idea. I'm in shock myself. It is possible that this was terrorist related, but we don't know. It's also possible that this was workplace related. [ BLANK_AUDIO ]
