So wouldn't it be great if we had a robot to do it for us. How are you doing Rosie? [ SOUND ] Just cleaning the rug ma'am. [ SOUND ] Well the robotics lab at the University of California Berkeley has created something they hope to one day be able to complete boring tedious tasks humans hate. The robot is called Brett. Short for Berkley Robot for the Elimination of Tedious Tasks. It's currently in what is pretty much a robot preschool, where it is being taught problem solving much like young children learn. They're still got some kinks to work out, but that's kinda the point. The team is just trying to get the robot to learn. The team is focusing on two fundamental areas for artificial intelligence. Deep learning, which helps it perceive the world around it. And re- enforcement learning, which helps the robot learn through trial and error. The Berkeley team says [ UNKNOWN ] has peaked the interest of execs at Dyson and Toyota.
