Thousands dance and sing in Green Square in the heart of downtown in the Libyan capital. It's a show of support for their leader of 41 years, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. -[ Foreign Language ] >> Noelle [ unk ] traveled with her two sisters, mother, aunt and cousin to be here today. For Noelle, Gadaffi is more than a leader. -[ Foreign Language ] >> Noelle says Gaddaffi made her dreams come true. >> Without Gaddafi, I would never dream of being a 5th year medical student, seriously. >> We love him so much. >> Five years of medical school and Noelle says she hasn't paid a dime. Gadaffi also foots the bill for healthcare for her and her family. But this way of life is now under threat, she believes, by rebel forces in the east. >> All that they want to do is hurt people and, you know, take over the power, take over the country. That's all they wanted. >> Gaddafi's military is determined to stop the rebel's progress. Outside Tripoli, soldiers guard roads, weapons at the ready for any assault to come. Gaddafi commands absolute devotion from his troops and followers, a devotion people here describe as deep love. -[ Foreign Language ] >> We don't know why we love him, you know. There is no reason. We are-- it is in the blood. It's in our blood. >> But there's a side to Colonel Gaddafi many of these supporters don't know about, or won't acknowledge. If you're not a supported, watch out. You risk being arrested, particularly if you're caught talking to the foreign press. Interviews with those against Gaddafi have to be conducted with anonymity. Thugs with guns control the streets in Toyota Tundras imposing their form of law and order by force. These cellphone videos are said to come from the Tripoli neighborhood of Souq al Juma. These are allegedly the bodies of two men who dissented. State TV brands these people foreign terrorists, Al- Quaeda, a view commonly held by Gaddafi's supporters. >> What happened here is something coming from abroad, you know, its not revered here. It's revered abroad. >> Noelle, the future doctor, says it'0s only a matter of time before Gaddafi's forces win. >> Our leaders are gonna like, they're gonna take over the country now from the people will gonna, who wants to kill us and people-- people there in Benghazi, Al- Quaeda. >> All signs indicate Gadaffi is prepared to fight to the end, which will likely mean a protracted battle for Libya. The country's future hangs in the balance.
