## Transcript

>> So, welcome to episode--

>> Seven--

>> of The Techland Show, I'm your host Peter Ha. There's--

>> I'm Lev Grossman, I thought I was the host. You're the host?

>> Oh. Are you the host?

>> We're co- hosts--

>> Co- hosts, sorry.

>> Co- hosts, Peter and Lev.

>> I'm Allie, I'm definitely not the host.

>> Allie is our little intern. She's here to do something. Which we'll get to-- So I actually just got this in the mail, from EA. I hope you can see it. It says classified, Cerebrus Network Personnel only. I'm just gonna-- Are you guys excited? Are you as excited as I am? Oh--

>> What do we got?

>> It's a--

>> Holy crow--

>> Mass Effect 2.

>> Wow--

>> Who's jealous?

>> I'm retroactively excited--

>> Who is jealous--

>> Yeah.

>> Okay--

>> How come you got that? I didn't get it--

>> Because you probably didn't check your mail.

>> Could you get it, Allie?

>> I don't get anything.

>> Okay, good.

>> These are-- Oh good, we have like two weeks to play it. Okay. Anyways, moving on-- Google found out that some little cyber- attack was going to happen, and they were looking into human rights activists' Gmail accounts.

>> The government was?

>> Well, no one said anything about the government yet.

>> Somebody was looking into the human rights activists' Gmail accounts--

>> One would assume that it is-- it is [ unk ]--

>> Yeah-- So do you think it's a bluff? Do you think they would really pull out of China?

>> I don't know. I honestly think maybe something else happened, like the Chinese government found out that Google was doing something--

>> Really? Do you think it's a cover story ?--

>> I think it's a cover story--

>> It's a conspiracy?

>> It's a conspiracy. -[ unk ] China's gonna wake up and Google is gonna be gone, and there's gonna be no explanation?

>> Yeah. Actually if you go to Google. cn today, like, you know how they do the fun little pictures with Google, you can sort of make out Exit--

>> Oh, coded message.

>> Yeah. What's going on with Spidey?

>> Well I think Spider- Man is officially dead. This week has marked the cancellation of Sam Raimi's Spider- Man 4--

>> Yes.

>> Dead. Done. Caput. Also, Spider- Man, the Future Terrible Musical, has been cancelled-- postponed-- People are getting their money back-- I don't know exactly what's going on there.

>> What, there's been like, $ 50 million on that musical?

>> Yeah, it's like the highest budget of a musical on Broadway, of all time--

>> Did they say why they're cancelling it?

>> Probably because they took so long to raise all the money necessary to get this thing off the ground, that they haven't had any time to rehearse it. So it's probably just terrible--

>> Was it somebody famous doing the music for it? Is it like Bono, or something ?--

>> It's Bono and--

>> Good job Bono.

>> Well if Bono--

>> Don't hate me, please don't hate me.

>> couldn't save Spider- Man--

>> Yeah, I know.

>> I mean, who could?

>> Bono is single- handedly saving Africa. And he can't-- he can't--

>> No. Spider- Man--

>> save Spider- Man.

>> was just too much. He's just one man.

>> Now what's this thing about James Cameron?

>> So--

>> On the whole time with Spider- Man?

>> in '92, James Cameron had this whole storyboard planned for his version of what Spider- Man--

>> Okay, yeah--

>> should be. And it's actually online for people to read. It's really not that different from what happened in 2002. But--

>> Really?

>> it's like edgier, a little more risqué--

>> Risqué? How is it more risqué ?--

>> How is it more about that ?--

>> Spider- Man has sex with Mary Jane--

>> What on--

>> He does not have sex.

>> He does.

>> Is there webbing getting involved with that at all?

>> Oh Jesus, what the heck--

>> Well they--

>> I'm just saying.

>> they apparently have their sex scene on top of the Brooklyn Bridge. So--

>> Right--

>> I don't know. There was no sketch-- -[ unk ]

>> No, but there is some really, really terrible dialogue beforehand. But when you--

>> This just sounds unsanitary.

>> He explains to Mary Jane about the mating habits--

>> This won't hurt--

>> of actual spiders.

>> He does not.

>> Yes, he does.

>> Can we talk about the boob physics of this game that you're playing with?

>> Yeah--

>> What is this you're playing?

>> Let me put it into Witch Time and then you'll really see it happen.

>> Okay. Bayonetta, by the way. Here's the a--

>> Bayonetta, is a-- it's a new game where you play this sort of, fighting- witch character, who I think is possibly even more stacked than Lara Croft. Stackeder--

>> Stackeder--

>> than Lara Croft.

>> Really?

>> She's wearing platform shoes?

>> She's a badass.

>> The heels of the shoes are pistols and she can shoot with them.

>> This is so wrong in so many ways.

>> It's useful.

>> Would you like to have pistols on your heels?

>> Probably, yeah--

>> Can you put pistols in those?

>> Probably not .--

>> No--

>> No way.

>> I'm gonna make her shoot with her heels--

>> That's fun.

>> Oh. Wow.

>> It's not what you call tasteful, exactly.

>> It must've mo- capped the-- a stripper-- for this.

>> That's interesting.

>> Pretty sure. No woman, [ unk ] like that.

>> Yes, we do.

>> Oh, great.

>> Just not when you're around.

>> No. Dammit.
