>> That's one thing I think this film shows is that it's not just the person who has the illness but it really effects every single person in their life all of their relationships and yeah you want to honor that, you want to make it as real It's possible. I read that some people who have borderline personality disorder saw the movie and were really pleased and felt like- Oh, I thought you were gonna say something else. I was like. [ LAUGH ] Like they were really upset. [ LAUGH ] They're outside. No, that's like the best thing I could hear. Thanks for calling the California Lottery. >> You just don't read scripts like that ever, especially characters like that. I just thought she was really sweet and sad and complicated and obviously unlike anything I've ever done before. It's one of the best scripts that I've ever read .

>> You wanna just Create this person in your head and do your best to become them when they say action. [ LAUGH ] And they're not you and you wanna do your best job to be that person whether it's for six minutes on SNL or for three months when you're shooting something. I mean of course, Alice was a much more complicated character, because of course there's just the comedic way of doing it. There's just a sort of like the dramatic way of doing it and we just, it was, sort of a balanced way [ UNKNOWN ]. And we were also on the same page of Keeping the funny parts but also acknowledging the dark side of and not ever making fun of anything or any situation or her, or her diagnosis or any of that stuff.
